Aesthetics

Questions in which these concepts are embedded:
1. What is the relationship of art to nature?
2. Under what circumstances can a work of art be said to exist?
3. When is an object beautiful?
4. Are there criteria for distinguishing good works of art from bad ones?
5. Is there a way of deciding, when there are varying interpretations of a work of art, which one is correct? (or is there such a thing as correct interpretation?)
6. Are the criteria of value the same for different types of art works (painting, literature, music, architecture)? If not, how and why do they differ?
7. Has art anything to do with morality, or with truth?

How do we talk about design?

Please post to your blog any design that illustrates each of the Design Principals and Elements. It can be an interior, a building a product. You must explain your image and each person must use different images. You all have until Friday the 19th Nov to complete. it is your responsibility to check that no one has already used that image

Design Theory - What is design Ideology

Ideology: the branch of philosophy or psychology dealing with the origin and nature of ideas.
It typically pertains to a system of ideas or a way of thinking pertaining to a class or individual, especially as a basis of some theory or system, regarded as justifying actions and to be maintained irrespective of events.

What is your own ideology in your Studio project?
